Jak powstało La Millou?

Pomysł wziął się z banalnych przyczyn – brakowało nam na rynku odpowiednich produktów dla dzieci. Tych parę lat temu, gdy Amelka była jeszcze w brzuchu, nie było polskich rzeczy z fajnym designem. Inne, sprowadzane na przykład z Francji czy Danii, były dostępne tylko w nielicznych sklepach i miały niebotyczne ceny.

Zabawne jest to, że Marta początkowo uważała moje niezadowolenie z oferty sklepowej za fanaberię. Uważała za niemożliwe, by w 2010 roku nie było ciekawych akcesoriów dla dzieci. Uznała, że to burza hormonów i mi przejdzie.

Ale po małym rekonesansie okazało się, że faktycznie – ze świecą można szukać czegoś oryginalnego.

Dlaczego zdecydowałyście się projektować dla dzieci?

Nie ma chyba lepszej motywacji niż błogo śpiące dziecko w naszym kocyku i zadowoleni rodzice. Czujemy, że robimy coś, co komuś umili spacer, sen czy podróż. Pracując w agencji reklamowej często miałyśmy poczucie, że to, co robimy ucieka gdzieś w świat a my nie mamy nawet styczności z finalnymi odbiorcami naszych wysiłków.

Teraz kontakt z ludźmi podczas targów, w showroomie czy nawet prowadzenie FB daje nam możliwość porozmawiania o tym, co robimy, co powinnyśmy ulepszyć, co klienci lubią, itd.
Prawdę mówiąc, projektujemy też z myślą o rodzicach – to oni przez ten pierwszy okres podejmują decyzje za dzieci. Czyli ich gust i styl też staramy się brać pod uwagę. Stąd w naszych kolekcjach pojawiają się nie tylko misie, ale również szachownica, mozaika, czy – jak w najnowszej kolekcji Magdaleny Różczki – delikatne róże w połączeniu z rajskimi ptakami.

Jaka przeszkoda była najtrudniejsza do przekroczenia przy rozwijaniu La Millou?

Trudne było przede wszystkim zdobycie odpowiednich tkanin. Tkaninę minky, dzisiaj już bardzo popularną, wtedy znalazłyśmy w hurtowni we Frankfurcie, i nie znając jej nazwy przez miesiąc szukałyśmy jej po świecie.

Przyznam, że to był moment dość przełomowy, ponieważ początkowo plan był na szycie kołderek z dwóch stron bawełnianych. Ale nowy materiał minky, który u każdego przy przy pierwszym (i kolejnych) kontakcie wywoływał błogi uśmiech na twarzy, stał się niekwestionowanym hitem. Potem był tylko problem z dostępnością, popyt zawsze przewyższał podaż. Z czasem nauczyłyśmy sobie z tym radzić.

Klienci narzekają, że często czegoś brakuje, a my chcemy naszą szwalnię rozwijać w tempie naturalnym, tak aby nie tracić jakości i kontroli nad produkcją. Nieustannie nad tym pracujemy.

Co pozwoliło Wam osiągnąć sukces?

Nie ma dla nas lepszej nagrody niż zadowolony klient, mały czy duży. To nas bardzo motywuje i powoduje, że nie oglądamy się za siebie, idziemy do przodu i eksplodujemy pomysłami.
Według nas sukces zawdzięczamy temu, że mamy określony plan, wiemy gdzie chcemy być za rok, dwa a nawet trzy, pomysły nam się nie kończą. Mamy takie zawodowe ADHD.
